Mary’s first role was as the Bride in Blood Wedding (in which her future husband, Paul, played the Moon). She has since appeared in many productions locally, including as Margaret of Anjou in Richard III, Paulina in The Winter’s Tale, Lady Windermere in Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime. In Radio Oxford’s early years, she took part in Humphrey Carpenter’s radio drama serials. Now retired, she is enjoying acting again, having played Lady Bracknell, Agnes in A Delicate Balance, Lady Julia Merton in Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, and The Widow in The Taming of The Shrew.
